The Dutch construction culture

The Netherlands has a rich construction history, strongly influenced by its landscape and water. It is a flat country where efficient and sustainable building is possible almost everywhere. The country is known for its locks, water management, tunnels and its sleek yet compact infrastructure. Today, the energy transition plays a major role and is being fully embraced. You can see this in the ports and around the major cities. The Dutch are proud of what they build and are happy to share this with you!

To ensure work runs as smoothly and safely as possible, skilled workers communicate openly with each other. Unlike in many other countries, hierarchy on Dutch construction sites is much less present. Colleagues look out for themselves and for each other, with short communication lines and room for humor.
