Making the dike along the Oude IJssel future-proof

Dike reinforcement Doetinchem
Dikes are incredibly important to the Netherlands. Without them, the Netherlands would look very different. That is why it is very important to maintain these dikes. That is why, in May 2024, the Grutbroek Dike Reinforcement project along the Oude IJssel was started in Aelbers' backyard. The dike has been newly constructed over a length of 600 meters, so that it is sustainable for the future.
Our input
Our skilled workers helped to make the formwork of the sheet piles and supported the pouring of the concrete into these formworks. The end result is a concrete floor founded on tubular piles with a concrete retaining wall on top.
