OpenIJ (BAM-PGGM, VolkerWessels and DIF), commissioned by Rijkswaterstaat.
OpenIJ has been working on the sea lock since 2015. Aelbers has been working on the project since 2017.
The scale of the lock is 70 meters wide, 500 meters long and 18 meters deep.
The Noordersluis in IJmuiden is due for replacement after almost 100 years of service. That’s why a new lock is now being built. This new sea lock will be longer, wider and deeper than its predecessor from 1929. When completed, it will be the biggest sea lock in the world.
We are supplying carpenters with the required training and are compiling teams for working in shifts.
We are devoting extra attention to working safely both along and above the water: our construction site coordinator proactively ensures everything is being done with the utmost safety in mind. We are also taking responsibility for the complex planning of shifts in all different parts of the project.View projectwebsite
